The story of CCCH centers on transformation. Transformation from a group of prayer-filled Christ-followers over 50 years ago dreaming about a church that reaches and impacts Chicago's western suburbs to the over 500 people who gather weekly to connect with God, study His word and serve His people and their communities.
Today, CCCH is marked with a desire for balance between the traditional elements of what we know as church and the desire to explore new ways to tell the story of God in innovative ways. When we connect with God through our worship services we keep a balance of traditional elements and some elements that you may not have seen in a church before. Dramas, videos, popular songs, compelling exploration of the bible through relevant teaching, and the weekly celebration of communion are just a few marks of our Sunday gathering.
We also seek a balance of old and new in the ways that we study. We have a large format class called Connection Groups that mixes large lecture-format teaching with small group discussion and study. We also have smaller, traditional Sunday School classes with informative bible study and helpful life application. Our mid-week small groups are a way that we seek to connect CCCH'ers with each other for Bible study, prayer, and fellowship. If you are new to CCCH you will want to check out Christian Life Development 101 (CLD 101) to learn about who we are and what we believe. After that, you will want to go through our Network class. This class helps us understand how God has wired us for service in the church and our community.
From day one our passions were clear: impacting the Chicago suburbs through service and witness and changing the world through global missions. Today we call this "Living A Life On Loan". We see that God has given us only one life to live. He has created us for a purpose. Our desire is to understand this purpose and to live it out to the fullest. At CCCH we want to create a place for everyone to realize their purpose, develop their gifts and live them out. Artists are given a place to create, gardeners a place to tend, teachers, leaders and mentors are given a place to lead and teach and mentor. And we see the true fruits of this concept when we take all the gifts of the church and use them outside of our four walls for the benefit of our community and world. CCCH members lead initiatives that take us into places that need help through Angel Tree, CareNet Hike For Life, foreign missions trips, Comcast Cares Day, Hinsdale Community Service Center, Love Christian Clearing House and so many other opportunities.
We have a vision to become a biblically authentic community where no one has to stand alone. We hope that you will take some time to visit us very soon. We have two services on Sunday mornings at 9:00 and 10:45 a.m. From the main page at www.ccch.org you can learn about what to expect when you come to CCCH on a Sunday, the classes we offer and also hear a sermon from a recent service. Check out our sermon podcast through iTunes as well.
The CCCH Story Videos
This series of videos was developed by our media ministry for the CCCH 50th anniversary. This anniversary was significant because it marked 50 years of ministry and it happened while we were planning for our new worship center during the Imagine Campaign.
