The Christian Church of Clarendon Hills is a non-denominational, independent Christian Church which aligns itself with the brotherhood of Christian Churches/Churches of Christ. Also known as the Restoration Movement. This relationship shapes a lot of what we believe and how we interpret scripture. Another unique mark is our location. The Christian Church of Clarendon Hills is situated in the heart of Chicago's western suburbs. This area is dynamic boasting many generations, ethnicities, economic situations and lifestyles. CCCH is a reflection of these two influences.
Bible-Centered and Culturally-Aware
Now more than ever, there is curiosity about the Bible but we don't always have the tools or resources to understand what it says. At CCCH we are dedicated to helping people understand the Bible. From messages centered on bible texts to Sunday school classes and small groups who study the scriptures together to accountability groups who use the bible to shape their lives and make life-applications and life-change, the study and knowledge of scripture is a benchmark of life at CCCH.
But to understand the Bible is just the beginning: the Bible is meant to be lived. Scripture was born out of the lives and actions of people like Moses and King David, the prophet Isaiah and the Apostle Paul. The stories of these people and the writings they penned themselves have been collected and printed for easy access and study. It is our job to bring these words and teaching from the page and into life again. God speaks through the words on the pages of scripture and, if we listen, it will change our lives. At CCCH, we study the bible to so we can make an impact where we live, work and play.
Multi-Generational and Ethnically-Diverse
We seek to be a reflection of the community in which we live. This means our body should be multi-generational and ethnically-diverse. CCCH uses a blended model of worship and study; utilizing tools from the past in new and innovative ways. We find this is a great way to blend generations as we give a nod to the good things of all eras. We also love our ethnic-diversity. We seek to use music, stories and languages from the people who attend and surround CCCH to shape our corporate gathering.
Singles, Young Families and Retirees
Church is supposed to be for everyone. At CCCH we have excellent children's worship services and sunday school classes with safe and secure facilities built just for them. For students we have an upbeat atmosphere where students gather to worship, fellowship and hear teaching relevant to their lives. There are also a host of mid-week small groups and other activities for students to be involved in. Singles will find friendship and fellowship with our singles gatherings that happen in mid-week small groups. Our Sing & Share and PrimeTimers groups are a gathering for our 50 and older attenders.
