Going to a new church can be tough. We know that the mystery of the unknown can sometimes scare us from going to a new church. This section lets you know what to expect when you come to the Christian Church of Clarendon Hills on a sunday morning. Our two identical services start at 9:00 and 10:45 a.m.

Parking

On your first visit, try to come a little early. A little extra time will help you enjoy your visit more!  But don't worry about parking. We have ample parking at both services. If you have children, we would suggest that you park in our main parking lot, right next to the the church building. We have specified visitor parking spots as well as parking for a parent with small children. If you are just looking for our adult worship services and classes, park in the north lot via the entrance.

Children and Students

 Children

When you check your kids in they will be given an identification number. This number is used when picking your child up your child and also allows volunteers to find you if they need to see in the middle of a worship service. Our children's programming consists of two different environments.  At 9:00 a.m. the children's programs get rockin' with Crosswalk for kids 1st through 5th grade followed by Sunday School Classes at 10:45 a.m. Our Preschoolers start at 9:00 a.m. with Sunday School Classes and then transition into the Children's Church program (for kids age 2 through kindergarten) at 10:45 a.m. Sunday school classes offer kids an opportunity for interaction with kids their age as they learn Bible stories and lessons about faith, joy, hope, and love.

Students

For students, we have our Student Ministry worship services. Junior High students meet at 9:00 a.m. and High School students at 10:45 a.m. Our student minister and leaders create a dynamic worship experience for students using video, interactive discussions and teaching that challenges kids to think differently about the influences they encounter.

Worship Services

Our worship services are the central gathering of our church body each and every week. What we do in congregational worship feeds our daily lives. Conversely, our daily lives feed into the time when we gather in the name of Jesus Christ on Sunday morning. This is where we remember the work of Christ in His life, on the cross, through the church and through each of us. It is a time to get on the same page as a church and to be united in our walk with Christ.

Worship at the Christian Church of Clarendon Hills is very fluid. Each service is planned based on the main point of the teaching that day and the big idea we want each person to leave with. But the constants that you can expect are communion (or the Eucharist), relevant teaching, inspiring music and a welcoming, joyous atmosphere.

We know that the question "what do I wear" often comes up when considering going to church. At CCCH we invite you to wear whatever is comfortable for you. Some people wear suits, some polos and others jeans and a t-shirt. Some women wear dresses or skirts and other slacks or jeans. Worship at CCCH is very relaxed and allows for you to be you when you join with us!

Sunday School

One of our vehicles for helping you learn about the Christian life and the Bible are Sunday School classes. We have a variety of environments to fit every learner!

Bible Studies

In our Bible studies you learn from gifted and knowledgeable bible teachers as they help you understand the Christian life and what it means to be Christ-like. Discussions help illuminate the subject and questions are always welcome. Contact Scott Nelson, Minister of Discipleship and Involvement, at for more information on our Sunday School classes and which one might be the best fit for you.

Small Group

Small groups are typically formed by people who are in a similar place in life. Our Sunday morning small groups are much like our mid-week small groups except they meet on Sunday morning at the CCCH campus! These classes are very conversational and relaxed. Prayer and conversation are benchmarks of their time together.  Contact Scott Nelson, Minister of Discipleship and Involvement, at for more information on our Sunday School classes and which one might be the best fit for you.

Connection Groups

Do you like the idea of a Bible study and a small group? Then our connection group is perfect for you!  Connections groups are a way to get your feet wet in the CCCH learning process. Join 50+ people as they gather at round tables in the Chapel. Connection groups start with a time of teaching by one of our gifted teachers. Then they turn the time over to a table leader who leads a time of discussion based on the teaching of that day. It is the best of both worlds! Contact Scott Nelson, Minister of Discipleship and Involvement, at for more information on our Sunday School classes and which one might be the best fit for you.

Support Group

We have many support groups that meet mid-week throughout the year. Every so often though, we have a support group that meets on Sunday morning. These groups are typically 12-13 weeks long and focus on a need in life like parenting helps or marriage strenghtening. Contact Scott Nelson, Minister of Discipleship and Involvement, at for more information on our Sunday School classes and which one might be the best fit for you.
