DuPage PADS

Overnight Shelter: Volunteers will be preparing and serving dinner, chaperoning overnight on Mondays, and then preparing and serving breakfast on Tuesday morning, January 8, 15 & 22 at the PADS shelter. PADS provides hospitality, food and emergency shelter to homeless people. We will be serving at 1st Congregational Church of Downers Grove, 1047 Curtis St. (across from Library) Sign up in the foyer to volunteer or bring food items on Sundays, December 17, 31 and  January 7, 14 and 21. Please contact Kim Brown with questions.

Warming Center: CCCH and DuPage Pads have worked together for years cooking and serving lunch in Downers Grove. Our church has committed to the second Saturday of the months of October thru April. If you are interested in serving or purchasing food for this ministry we would greatly appreciate your service. Contact Libby Kincanon. This is a great way to be of service in our community!

CareNet: Baby Bottle Campaign

The Baby Bottle Campaign is an outreach opportunity to help provide life-affirming pregnancy support services to families in need. The collection of change, bills and checks as a special offering supports our local Care Net Pregnancy Center ministry. Gifts from baby bottles are used toward some of the following:
  • Pregnancy tests
  • Ultrasound supplies
  • Parenting education
  • Material assistance
  • Abortion recovery support
  • Teen sexual health education (Abstinence-focused and sex trafficking awareness education)
Bottles will be available in the foyer on Sunday, January 21 & 28.

Hope For Children

Hope for Children is a ministry dedicated to supporting individuals and families who are caring for vulnerable children through adoption, foster care or the Safe Families for Children program. Join us on Sunday, January 21 from 10:15-10:45 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. This is open to all current participants and those wanting to get involved or just learn more. For more information contact Joanna Kruse.

Safe Families for Children hosts vulnerable children and creates extended family-like supports for desperate families through a community of devoted volunteers motivated by compassion to keep children safe and ultimately together with their families. If you are interested in volunteering with Safe Families either though hosting children or supporting those who host or place their children (Family Friend, Transportation Friend, Coach, etc.), please come to our Volunteer Training scheduled for February 24, 2018 in the Student Center.
