CCCH Story
The story of CCCH centers on transformation. Transformation from a small group of prayer-filled Christ-followers who over 50 years ago dreamt about a church that would reach and impact Chicago's western suburbs to the more than 600 people who gather weekly in Clarendon Hills to connect with God, study His word and serve His people and their communities.
Today, CCCH continues this transformation as we look to balance the traditional elements of what we know as church with the desire to discover new ways to tell the story of God. Dramas, videos, popular songs, compelling exploration of the Bible through relevant teaching, and the weekly celebration of communion are just a few marks of our Sunday gathering.
We also seek a balance of old and new in how we study. We offer large format lecture groups that include discussion as well as smaller, traditional Sunday School classes with informative Bible study and helpful life application. Our mid-week small groups are another way that we seek to connect CCCHers with each other for Bible study, prayer and fellowship. If you are new to CCCH you will want to check out our 3-week Discovery Class (offered several times a year) to learn about who we are and what we believe.
From day one our passions were clear: to impact the Chicago suburbs through service and witness and to change the world through global missions. We see that God has given us only one life to live. He has created us for a purpose. Our desire is to understand this purpose and to live it out to the fullest. At CCCH we want to create a place for everyone to realize their purpose, develop their gifts and live them out. Artists are given a place to create, gardeners a place to tend, teachers, leaders and mentors are given a place to lead and teach and mentor. And we see the true fruits of this concept when we take all the gifts of the church and use them outside of our four walls for the benefit of our community and world. CCCH members lead initiatives that take us into places that need help, such as PADS (Public Action to Deliver Shelter), the People's Resource Center, Feed My Starving Children, Samaritan's Purse, Hinsdale Community Service Center and foreign mission trips, and in-house through various drives, collections and our Christmas Toy Resale.
We have a vision to become a biblically authentic community where no one has to stand alone. We hope that you will take some time to visit us very soon. We have two services on Sunday mornings at 9:00 and 10:45 a.m. From the main page at www.ccch.org you can learn about what to expect when you come to CCCH on a Sunday, the classes we offer and also hear a message from a recent service. Check out our sermon podcast through iTunes as well.
The CCCH Story (2006)
This series of videos was developed by our media ministry for the CCCH 50th anniversary. This anniversary was significant because it marked 50 years of ministry and it happened while we were planning for our new worship center during the Imagine Campaign.
