Sent by Christ…

The last thing Jesus said on earth as a mandate given to his followers concerning their role in the world.  Jesus said “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1:8).  We believe Christ has given us this same role– to show his love to all people – and therefore make it our goal to serve the world.  We serve the world by sending people from CCCH and supporting those already serving.

…to bring hope and meet needs…

While training his disciples, Jesus sent them out with these instructions: “Heal the sick who are there and tell them, ‘The kingdom of God is near you.’”  Jesus could have told them to do anything, but he wanted them to meet people’s felt needs and to give them hope for their future.  Again, we believe God has called his church to do the same for all the world.

…and to make disciples.

When Jesus appeared to the disciples after the resurrection, he told them to “go and make discples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching to obey everything I have commanded you.”  At CCCH, we support organizations and missions that seek to make disciples both here in Illinois and across the world.
