Help and hope

While training his disciples, Jesus sent them out with these instructions: “Heal the sick who are there and tell them, ‘The kingdom of God is near you.’”  Jesus could have told them to do anything, but he wanted them to meet people’s felt needs and to give them hope for their future.  God has called his church to do the same and there is no better place to start than in the local community.

Reach Beyond

Reaching Beyond Ourselves (RBO) is a ministry that leads CCCH through local large-scale outreach projects. For details on how you can get involved in helping the people and communities of Chicago’s western suburbs, contact Lisa Shaw or Kim Brown.

Neighborhood networks

Beginning in 2009, CCCH is hoping to launch Neighborhood Networks as a main way people can make a difference in their communities.  Neighborhood Networks will connect people in geographically based networks.  These networks will meet once a month for fellowship and to ask/answer the question “How can we serve this community together?”  The goal is to increase CCCH’s impact on the community by decentralizing service into the neighborhoods where are members live.  Interested?  Contact Scott Nelson to talk more about this possibility.
